Only a few days to go now

Soon it will be my wedding and my whole body is in knots at the thought. I haven't seen even a bit of cold feet yet, but what I have realized it THERE'S SO MUCH TO DO! Well, that's what I think till I check my list of to do things....then I relax for about 10mins.

Uhm.

Life Update

Omgosh 20 days to go...that thought puts my stomach in knots (more because of the amount that still needs to be done than anything else).

This is also my first post for 2010 phew. So happy new year everybody!!

As for today, it was a day of the stranger nature...I started the day of going to church. Nice and normal. And finished it off watching MXC with a group of guys (hi Jacques buddies :D) laughing in my own unique silent seizure way at "omgoodness he spontaneously donated his pancreas" and "Ahh Nose nuggets"...It was fun :)

Good day...

Photo-time!

Just wanted to share a few photos from Rarotonga. Yes, this was a Missions trip...Yes, we had a photo-shoot :P
This was a colab between me and Stephen Judd and our model is Melanie Raye . I could be real pro and say, Make-up/hair/dress was done by me :) I got to boss her around YAY (I'm a mean photographer...not necessarily as in "real good" but as in nasty, bossy, makes people cry...well, not really)

The reason I haven't done any colour correction on the second well, even though it's my favourite is, because if you look in the background YOU CAN SEE STEPHEN'S LEGS

Dear Smith and Smith

8 Shifts to go. It really doesn't feel that way. Admittedly it doesn't feel like I'm flying to Australia in 12days and it doesn't feel like I'm getting married in 48days, neither does it feel like I'm going to Uni in 77days. I never thought I could stick with one thing for this long, nevermind a job...don't even mention a sales job. I can honestly say that I will miss you. Maybe not the mean customers and 25 minute phone call complaints, but definatly the cool ones. Like the dude with the 5series BMW with its "attempted" break in. Total emphasis on "attempted" The burgler tried to smash the quarter glass with a brick, realized it was bullet proof glass and moved on to trying to pry it open with come crowbar type thing...Didn't work. The customer actually said to me, "Car-1, thief-0". I was a fan

So, just in today, I've had a nice lady phone up with her daughter in the background talking to her. She told her "go talk to daddy", but the kid didn't leave, so the mum said, "Will you talk to my daughter quick?" and I had a small conversaton with her approximatly 3year old daughter. Yay?!
I also happen to be afrikaans. So today I got a call from a lady who is VERY afrikaans. I was tempted to talk to her in afrikaans as she was obviously struggling, but I didn't inorder to remain "professional". She asked me to get her a phone number, and while I was searching I heard her talk to her husband in afrikaans. She was being so mean and talking about how he's grumpy and needs to go to be, with his replies being "YOU need to go to bed" with a few nasty words in between. By now I'm totally trying to stay "professional"....I gave them the number, hung up, and ROFLED

As far as work places go, this place is pretty cool. There's no mean boss, no annoying colueges. Just mean insurance companies, but we can deal with them with our well practised script and well organized post-it notes.

I think God's really done something by putting me here.
1. He's given me lots of money for not doing much, which after Maccas was a great break (especially because when I started here I was the youngest)
2. He's tought me two big lessons. How to be joyfull and how to be patient. Nevermind the lessons on how the work place really works.

I've made some great friends here from the coolest walks of life. From the gaming geek "in her own world" type to the JW's (who are great for wanna be theological discussions (in a call-centre? YEAH))

Anyhoo, I can rant on forever...
Yay for job hunting! :D

Mission update update

Regarding our previous mission update:

My parents went shopping today when my dad remembered he needed to buy a few extra decorations, he turned to my mum and said "oh we need to get some decorations for the tree, but I don't know which" and she replied with "yes we can do that and use that for next year, because Christmas will be over before the tree will be up"

I didn't actually think that she won't notice our tree! lol!
